Plan your bike transport

To be able to take a bike with you, you must be able to load and unload it independently and place it in the holders provided.

Please note the following information:

  • Self-loading of bikes applies on all Zentralbahn lines. No bicycle reservations can be made.
  • Depending on the volume of traffic, especially in good weather, there may be bottlenecks in transport capacity for self-loading bikes on certain routes.
  • Special bikes that are longer than 2 metres - i.e. tandems, recumbent bikes and cargo bikes - can only be transported if there is sufficient space. Transport is not guaranteed.
  • Vehicles with combustion engines (e.g. mopeds), tricycle tandems, multi-seater recumbent bicycles, personal transporters (e.g. segways) and electric scooters are excluded from transport.
  • For safety reasons and due to the door dimensions of most trains, bicycle trailers may only be transported with a maximum width of 80 cm.
