The Zentralbahn’s network covers the three world famous tourist destinations Lucerne, Engelberg and Interlaken. But our region also offers a number of lovely leisure time destinations along the way you won’t want to miss. For example, the trip from Stans with the world’s first CabriO® cable car up Mt. Stanserhorn or a hike from Meiringen through the Aare canyon. Discover a Switzerland of a hundred years ago in the Ballenberg museum and see a glass blowing demonstration in the glassworks museum in Hergiswil. And there’s so much more – a visit to the Zentralbahn catchment area is sure to be full of surprises.

In addition to a host of fascinating destinations, a journey with the Zentralbahn is itself a sight to behold. Did you know that our trains travel through 15 tunnels and cross 187 bridges? And all that in a network of “just” 100 kilometres.

In Central Switzerland, your guests can experience a microcosm of Switzerland – the whole country in “pocket format”. For example, the Zentralbahn takes you in only 47 minutes from the picturesque city of Lucerne to Engelberg –an idyllic mountain resort that is home to an impressive monastery as well as the Titlis Rotair cable cars that will carry you up to the perpetual snow.
